Trinity 3D Viewer is a web application that the National Heritage Institute uses in caring for the Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc, developed in cooperation with Palacký University and its Department of Geoinformatics. It shows a detailed textured 3D model of the column, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, directly in the browser, using the 3DHOP framework.
Survey sampling points are placed on the model as markers, grouped by campaign: salt content and surface crusts from 2024 and gilding from 2025. Clicking a point shows a photo of the spot and its measurements, colour-coded relative to the other points. For salts, these are chloride, nitrate and sulphate contents at several depths, so conservators can see where salts damage the stone at a glance. For gilding, they are the estimated thickness of the gold layer and the elemental composition of the alloy.
Groups of points can be shown or hidden and recoloured, and the expert reports are available as PDFs. Access is password-protected.
